4th International MOH O&G Congress 2026

Kuala Lumpur – From 8 to 10 May 2026, the 4th International Ministry of Health Obstetrics and Gynaecology Congress (MOH O&G Congress) was held at the elegant Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur South, bringing together O&G specialists, allied health professionals, researchers, and trainees from across Malaysia and beyond. The congress was jointly organised by PROGEN and Hospital Ampang, reflecting the strong collaborative spirit that has come to define this annual gathering of Malaysia’s O&G fraternity.   The three-day congress provided a rich and stimulating platform for knowledge exchange, clinical updates, and professional networking. Delegates were treated to a comprehensive scientific programme spanning plenary sessions, keynote addresses, hands-on workshops, and panel discussions covering the full breadth of obstetrics and gynaecology — from maternal-fetal medicine and reproductive health to the latest advances in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery. A Distinguished Launch   The congress was officially launched by the O&G National Head of Services, Dr. Rafaei, whose presence lent the event significant weight and underscored the Ministry of Health’s steadfast commitment to advancing women’s healthcare in Malaysia. In his opening address, Dr. Rafaei commended the continued growth of the congress as a premier platform for professional development and reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to fostering excellence, innovation, and equity in O&G services nationwide. International Perspectives on Women’s Health   A defining feature of this year’s congress was the strong international representation on the speakers’ roster. Renowned O&G specialists and researchers from Thailand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom took to the podium, sharing their expertise and perspectives on global trends and best practices in women’s healthcare. Their contributions enriched the scientific discourse and provided Malaysian delegates with valuable insights into how peer institutions around the world are navigating the evolving challenges of obstetrics and gynaecology. OLSS Book Launch — A Milestone for the Profession   One of the most celebrated moments of the congress was the official launching of the Obstetrics and Labour Suite Standards (OLSS) Book by the Director General of Health, Dr. Mahathar. This landmark publication represents a significant achievement for Malaysia’s O&G community, establishing clear national standards to guide the safe and effective management of labour suites and obstetric care settings across the country. The launch was met with great enthusiasm by delegates, recognising it as a meaningful and lasting contribution to patient safety and clinical governance in Malaysian maternity services. An Evening of Appreciation   The Appreciation Dinner, jointly organised by PROGEN and Hospital Selayang, was a highlight of the congress social calendar. Held in a warm and celebratory atmosphere, the dinner provided a fitting occasion to honour the dedication and service of O&G consultants and colleagues who have made enduring contributions to the specialty. It was a heartfelt evening of fellowship, gratitude, and reflection — a reminder of the deep bonds of community that unite Malaysia’s O&G fraternity across hospitals, states, and generations. Passing the Torch   In a moment that drew applause and anticipation from the floor, it was officially announced that the next congress will be hosted by the Wilayah Persekutuan cluster, representing Labuan, Putrajaya, and Kuala Lumpur. The announcement was warmly received as a recognition of the vibrant O&G community within the Federal Territories and a testament to the growing reach and inclusivity of the congress across Malaysia. As the curtain came down on the 4th International MOH O&G Congress 2026, delegates departed with renewed energy, strengthened networks, and a shared sense of purpose. The congress once again affirmed the resilience and ambition of Malaysia’s O&G fraternity in its pursuit of the highest standards of care for women at every stage of life.
